i think the entire concept of being okay with being single & compromising with just having friends is retarded having one good person that will be with you forever is in fact better than having a handful of friends who probably dont even like you i would go as far as to say having family is good too which it is but at least with how most of my family act outside of my parents this is not the case for me

Most relationships are and will always be hollow because they are built either on transaction or sexual attraction first and foremost, if you're going to be a pessimist and say that friends "probably [won't] even like you" then it makes no sense to be optimistic and assume that a relationship would "last forever" when most don't even come close.
