Favorite game genre?

For whatever reason, I have been cursed with an eternity of taste so superior that only a few games have tapped into it well, not counting indie demos. This being: Momentum-based, preferably action, side-scrollers/third-person platformers with expansive movesets that enable player expression and speed.

simulation games where i can do whatever i want and cheating is encouraged to simulate certain scenarios/conditions (for example a government subsidy in farming sim)
but ive gotten back into the pokemon games recently and i liked animal crossing
really just nothing thats high pressure
platformers are fun though

Beat em ups/hack and slash. I only actually like two of them, but one of them is my favorite game, and the other is objectively the best vidya game ever made (God Hand). My most played games are PVP shooters, but those could never be my favorite because I have shit internet and seethe everytime someone kills me.

I am once again addicted to gran turismo 5

I have a love-hate relationship with the Ford GT 2005. For one it's a pain in the ass to drive, but it's a necessity for some of the higher tier races until I get something more stable like a chaparral 2j

Probably open world, I don't like games where you're really limited to areas (like COD)
