Why live if you're an Atheist?

>it's not a religion, it's a relationship! [soyak]
I didnt say its not a religion, I said its not worshipping the church, its about worshipping God.
no offense but whay exactly do you mean by that? do you encounter various churches that belong to different denominations?
Is it not obvious what i mean by that? the church Jesus describes in Matthew 16:18 isnt an establishment. Its the greek word "ekklesia". It's a gathering of believers, people unifying in Christ, not going to a building and listening to made up rules by a collection of little officials. He doesnt hate the unifying church that Jesus speaks about, he hates the church that makes up rules and thinks they interpret things and have power. If that makes more sense.

Brother I agree with everything you just said but my problem is that this Erblicken guy completely shrugs off the role of the Church (εκκλησία) in Christianity and disregards Holy Tradition
Things like theology and the ecumenical councils are really important and shouldn't be disregarded so that we may not end up following an entirely different religion or falling into heresy

He is in the wrong for saying that you don't need to go to church, bible says it pretty clearly that the gathering is essential, but on the ecumenical councils interpreting things, hes fully right to question it. For example, the eucharist, I cant say whether its symbolic or not because the original scripture language isn't very clear or defining on that. Jesus has compared himself to objects before, it doesn't mean he is literally a vine, or literally a door. There is a huge debate over whether he was metaphorically speaking, or being literal, because the original language is unclear in that regard. Its these types of issues why the church is so divided, and clearly one church is completely wrong and the other is right, I don't think they should be calling something unclear the complete truth. So i think he's completely right to question the church in this regard, and not trust them. The church is prone to corruption, the bible isn't. Or maybe im just larping idk

The church is corrupt but the Bible isn’t even doe the Bible was compiled by the Church

The Church, when patriarchs come together to make a decision/statement is infallible
Through their interpretations we're assured that we're following the correct form of Christianity
Think of yourself as a blind man trying to climb a mountain, the Church will be the one to lead you on the top
I say this because personal interpretations of the Bible can be deadly
Why do you think America has so many denominations?

The church is corrupt but the Bible isn’t even doe the Bible was compiled by the Church
also this^

the Church came before the Bible, that's why I stress about the importance of the Church so much

Why do people even think like this? Just because you die that doesn't mean what you leave for the world would be meaningless, there are people from centuries ago that we still know their names, ideas, actions, etc. And other thousands that we live because of their inventions and contributions for society
Murder and rape is not evil according to Atheism btw
Shalom, Jordan Peterson. Even in Christianity morality doesn't exist simply because "God said so", it exists because of the rules of the world he created and natural order

This post is not a dig at Atheism or Irreligiousness, but if all of your efforts and fruits in life are ultimately for naught then why continue to live? (Besides your biological instincts screaming at you to stay alive)
Most of life is joyless toil or suffering with temporary moments of comfort and pleasure. It all seems pointless to me, and it's selfish and cruel to bring more life into the world when you know they will have to suffer, wither. and eventually die for nothing too.
I can understand not killing or raping people because that's needlessly evil and most people do not have wickedness in their hearts and minds, but experiencing a futile and insignificant existence sounds like torture. Wouldn't it be better to just kill yourself and get it over with?
To piss off and spite people. Also, you can still find meaning and purpose in life without religion; just replace it with some ideology or philosophy + a task

I frankly don't think you'd give a shit if there was no afterlife but some cacaot in the year 4025 has to learn about you for 5 minutes in history class.

Did you know people speak French in France because of Julius Caesar? This is has nothing to do with history class
You could be a homeless crack addict or God emperor of the world, if there's no afterlife none of that matters because you'll be dead all the same.
Also I was using history class as an example and you're black for using that in your argument

Hilarious of you to call me black while only thinking of short-term and immediate good like a noob.
