What makes it more hilarious is that this follows years and years of him continuously doubling down on that topic and breeding a community of radical rabid tankies and his grift has come back to bite him in the ass in a way where he could lose all support entirely for disavowing his old views and still never get accepted into any political party because he's seen as a liability. It's like if Nick Fuentes suddenly dropped every radical view and started praising Israel to join the GOP
