I don’t think it’s 100 percent money laundering, there’s big cuts they have to give to Disney, Insomniac is based in an expensive city, their employees are likely insanely spoiled and likely only work 25 hour weeks, and they restarted development once in between.

Most of the work that was in the 2023 leaks was tossed out, and not because they were leaks. For example, Wolverine was supposed be controlled with both of the triggers mapping to his claws but due to “MUH ACCESSIBILITY” it was shitcanned. Environmental destruction was supposed to be a major part of combat but nobody felt like actually implementing it so it wasn’t. Jean Grey was at one point going to be playable (and I think she was in the betas) along with another character but they just abandoned her.

PS5 piracy got set back recently unfortunately, there was some drama involving a new exploit and someone finding it with a LLM, and then someone reporting it to Sony for cash before GTA VI drops, and then a big name in the hacking community (he’s responsible for the kernel exploit for the Vita that makes the damn thing usable) ragequit the scene and now the dream of day 1 GTA VI on PC is dead because no one can get the keys to rip the game.

That's the problem. None of the people past Moore give a shit about what they're trying to lead. Mattrick was more interested in some autistic home media center nonsense. Spencer was more interested in buying shit and proclaiming they have the biggest gaming enterprise in the world. While I do believe Asha SAARma is doing better than other two by solely just cutting out the fat, I do believe she's this Stephan Elop type figure who's working with Microsoft to kill off the division in some way.

(in case you don't know who that is, Elop was a former Microsoft executive who became one of the final CEOs of Nokia's mobile division. He suggested Nokia cozied up to Windows Phone... then Nokia's phone division was bought out by Microsoft... then Nokia's phone division became Microsoft... then Nokia's phone division was disposed by Microsoft. I believe Asha is trying to prime their division in some way for a spin-off or a sale to another company, I think they just want to cut it off so they can throw more money at useless AI initiatives and boring Azure shit)
