Okaaay and what what game do you prefer? If its not Oblivion you are just massively coping, The older games are cool and retro but they have so much clunk that its not nearly as enjoyable. Needing to read giant dialogue boxes that need a scroll bar to navigate regularly its just boring asfuck, the combat system is literal feces from an asshole, The only objectively better thing the older games had was like speech (One million language skills vs They made a face idfk) and spell systems, But speech is SNCA so you aren't missing out on much there

I havnt played oblivion though so i wouldn't know how much better it is than Daggerfall or Skyrim, I only knew a few of the more obvious differences

None, i don't need to compare it to any other game to call it bad, that's a dummyed way of reasoning criticism, but if we're really gonna go through this then let me illustrate the following. Morrowind and oblivion also have their own sets of problems, but they're easier to excuse due to the technology, hardware and design philosophy of the era. Skyrim came out in 2011 and somehow has less skills than oblivion, which came out in 2006, which somehow has less skills than morrowind that came out in 2002. Morrowind by the way somehow has almost double the amount of quests skyrim has, a game that came out in 2002 and has half it's fucking map size and that's without taking into account just how many of skyrim's quests are radiant slop like "go kill this nameless bandit" or "go fetch this dummyed item" all to give you some useless enchanted leather boots with 20% skill increase to some other dummyed shit like illusion. Skyrim is extremely fucking lazy and it's clear that it's entire legacy is only it's map. Every quest simply feels like a chore.

Nobody is picking Arena or Daggerfall, Elder Scrolls is a 5 game series that's actually a trilogy.

They are objectively the best cuz they are free
