i wish i served on a u-boat

Well, good luck, man.
>U-boat submariners had a 75% casualty rate, the highest of all German forces during the war. (source)
at least id die with honor
shame the type XXI boats weren't used more before the war ended, i think those couldve reduced the rate by a lot
since they were much faster submerged due to the diesel snorkel.

Not dying at all would be better, there's no reason to wish to have been part of the meat grinder..

U-boats weren't really a great place
Loud, cramped, less ammenities
And if you sunk, scuttled or were captured U-boat crew were waaaay more likely to get shot or executed off the books

The farming thing is an extension of his adoration for swine but Idk where the uBoats thing comes from, I don't think NT is the German-larper type.
I don't really care about Nazi Germany, but I find the Battle of the Atlantic & WW2 naval warfare really cool. The convoy system, the wolfpacks, things like that. And Das Boot is just a good movie.

I know a couple pig farmers irl and none of them are effeminate cacaots, I just don't see minuteman making it in the industry. He'd do great on a submarine though because the navy is perfect for guys like him.

Did Germany's navy even... do anything during World War II? This is coming from a The Great Game caca by the way, in the sense that I only really care about pre 1900s colonial history. I mean, they had the Bismarck, right?
