I've been working towards finishing House Of Leaves, probably the most interesting read I've come across so far next to the flowers of evil by Charles Baudelaire. You honestly need to have a lot of time on your hands to get through both, especially House Of Leaves though I really like how complex and unconventional the book gets. It's a challenge but also a fun one if you're into that kind of thing - would recommend it regardless, there's no other book that can compare in my opinion to this experience, but go into it piece by piece so that you don't get burnt out. When it comes to reading materials I like to make my brain work overtime to make the activity feel worth it in the end, there's a lot to take away after these reads and a feeling of fulfillment.

- You should only ever read house of leaves as a physical copy, there's no point otherwise since a big part of this experience is within it's contents and the way the book makes you physically interact with it.

"The novel is a story within a story about family of four that moves into a home in Virginia where there is a mysterious room that is larger on the inside than the rest of the house is on the outside. Even more confounding, the room grows into a labyrinth that inexplicably grows exponentially."

I know that this thread is asking the question of what's currently being read though it's a good place for me to discuss my love for certain pieces - I have no mouth, and I must scream being another that's a favorite of mine that I would recommend people at least listen to the audio book, which is less than an hour long. There was a video game made based around this novel with the same name, the story being about five humans who are captured by a super computer named AM which took over the world and destroyed all life, though decided to imprison five humans for one hundred and nine years to strip away their humanity as punishment for it's creation, able to keep them alive for as long as it wants - the ideas and horrors suggested in 1967 in the novel of what could happen if AI became sentient and grew past the capabilities of human beings, becoming the top of the food chain and that of what God would be if it were a cruel machine filled with despise for the human race it wiped out, save for five whom have AM's full and undivided attention.
