I get 31 mpg

>rpms it doesn't like
I rev until the cutoff at 7100 [trollface]
Thats why you get such low MPG tho.

Every engine has a "green zone" of delivering the most torque at the lowest possible amount of fuel usage.
In trucks this is usually pointed out on the gauges, however considering your engine revs to 7k, it probably is about 3.8-5k rpm
Gears usually don't matter unless you're shifting from 3rd to 1st, then you'll have a nice repair bill.

Hope this helps to make you ecomax o algo

Wouldn't that in turn make the engine wear down faster? I rev high when accelerating only of course, then I drive at around 2k rpm or higher. As for ecomaxing- from experience the best thing you can do is to just drive slower. I sometimes get 5.4l/100km when driving ~70km/h but it's too slow for a 40km commute every day.

Having it at the engines reccomended operating level makes it wear down normally, unless your engine is specificially tuned for high RPMs (such as advancing the timing, running nitrous or fucking with the A/FR which I doubt you did)

Imo I just reccomend following the speed limit and going in whatever gear allows you to keep the lowest revs while being able to maintain the speed normally.
