Pubg? This game is all about decission making, luck and some skill.

You can camp the whole game, try to avoid ennemy and then kill the last one(If your possition is better, you noticed him first etc).

Honestly? The best impact on your brain have platform/roguelike/rhytm games like Isaac, Hollow Knight, Death Gambit, CupHead, Osu!

Why? Because you practice your reflex, concentration, feeling the rhytm and many other things.

Even pro players practice some of those games. Faker(league of legends top1 player) did practice Osu! and TouHou to be better at avoiding ennemy's skillshot ingame.

Some OverWatch pro players practice their aim/reflex/concentration by playing osu!

So yes, videogames can have many benefits, but the most visible ones come from platform/roguelike/rhytm games in which you gotta stay focused at: clicking circles ; avoiding many elements in one time ; learning the rhytm of the boss(tactic to avid his abilities smooth) or song(to be accurate).

If you put on youtube 'osu the hardest map' ; 'touhou' ; 'hollow knight the hardest boss' etc you're gonna be like 'WTF" but people that are able to play in such a hardcore lvl usually have amazing focus/concentration and muscle memory.

CS;GO/OverWatch players practice their aim/jump ability by fast pointclicking in games like: osu/aimtastic.

You gotta remember one thing - Being good at X games means -> you have decent decission making(you know what you can do, when you can do and how to do), decent concentration, decent reflex.

For example - NBA players are taught to 'mute' the whole background except their coach and other players on the court.

Michael Jordan said that his coach was teaching Chicago Bulls Buddhism to make them stay calm/focused/relaxed.

So as you can see there are many 'elements' that makes you become a better player.

And you gotta remember one thing about PUBG - Game has MANY bugs/glitches, it's like unfinished project... Even the worst possible loser can kill you because he had better possition. So all the time your decissions = risk.
