the first time I got to help my mom put out presents and hide eggs for easter. I had so much fun, and then my little brother ended up waking me up at 2am, and I went to bed at midnight. I was really pissed at first, but I remember being so at peace just playing with our toys while half asleep as the sun came up.

There's probably more, but I'd have to really think.

Oh, I used to be terrified of there not being an afterlife when I was 7, just thinking about losing my life and every memory of it.
I usually tried to hide it, because I felt so bad admitting that I had doubts in heaven to my mom, but one night I just couldn't stop crying.
She brought me to her room and read from the bible, which was the only time she did that for me in my life.
I can't really remember, but I think it was the "God so loved the world" verse.
She told me how God loved his son, and even if he had to die on earth, God would never have let him if it meant he'd just stop existing and never come home to him. Then she told me he loved me just the same, and that he wants me to come home just as much as his own son. It was the only thing that ever helped.

I've been thinking about that a lot lately, and it makes me hate myself a bit for the way my life ended up going later on. Both because she had to watch me fall away, and because I really do think that God exists and had to watch me suffer at my own hand for no good reason at all, constantly wishing I'd be as close to him as I used to.
