very likely bad drivers have picked up on it & are making knockoffs/unlicensed versions for a quick buck. it happens a lot more then people think, especially on places like amazon where small businesses get assraped by bad driver clones and can't compete for the price (even if it's a vastly inferior product, which it is 99% of the time)

Chinese cut costs via updating with new technologies, Americans just never innovate outside of the service market, to give them credit its better than the europoors who actually regress. This is the reason American products are more expensive, not better.
