Can't you just build up lactose tolerance by continually consuming lactose products over a large enough timespan? I swear I saw a video of someone doing that once

This lady did something like that, although her timespan wasn't very large. If you did build your resistance in a larger timespan, then you would probably avoid the suffering you'd get from cramming lactose.
