SystemD is a convoluted bulky mess that attempts to solve non-existent issues via replacing perfectly apt components, just like Wayland and Rust rewrites. The sole reason behind its adoption is lazy noobs only wanting to code for one init system rather than many. Init freedom won and SystemD spits in the face of that. GNU Shepherd won, SysVinit won, and stop job cuckolds lost.

I just found out about Salix, and I’m sreal womangly considering giving it a whirl. It’s a Slackware-based distro “for lazy slackers” developed by folks who've either been slackers since the intial release or just enjoy the work. The main features are objectively superior repositories, defaults, ease-of-use, bundled original software aimed specifically towards the distribution, automatic dependency resolution, and lightness, which to myself almost makes Slackware itself obsolete. It comes with a text-based installer similar to Slackware’s that allows both an easy "install it all", or an exhaustive fine-tuning of what comes pre-installed. Shortly, it's the EndeavorOS to Slackware’s Arch. The same result with less work. If it lives up to the websites boastings, I honestly might rank it up there in my mind alongside FreeBSD and Devuan.

So has everything else that came prior, it's just another solution to a non-existent problem. There's no need in reinventing the wheel when it has already been perfected. Also you say this in spite of the near decade of people having faults with stop jobs and over-complexity. SystemD has always tried too hard to do everything at once to a mediocre standard, rather then just doing one thing with perfection.
