why did they make that change?

There have always been a lot of contradictions in the sharty regarding what's allowed or not using the basis that a good chunk of it's userbase is underage as a base for what things should be banned. The coinslot being allowed while minors run around the website is one of these contradictions. Either quote got approached by British glowies or this is a way to prevent that from happening in the future.
