Is there a difference between orthodox and catholic icons
Icons are meant to represent dogmas in a somewhat simple way
Orthodox and Catholic Christians hold different dogmas from each other so their icons tend to have differences
Catholic "icons" don't have as strict rules as Orthodox ones
Let me give you an example

This icon of Joseph and Mary hugging, although it might look Orthodox (because of the Byzantine style), it is in fact NOT Orthodox
This is because the icon contradicts Orthodox dogma
According to Orthodox dogma, Joseph and Mary were never in a romantic relationship, and Mary is an ever-virgin
Joseph only married Mary to protect her vow of virginity, that's why in Orthodox icons Joseph is depicted to be really far from Mary

catholics rarely have any icon imagery (aside from hispanic catholics with their rip-off tonantzin) aside from crosses from what i've seen. I guess living in a masonic & protestant country changes aspects of catholic worship.
There are also Byzantine Catholics which do have icons but they differ from Orthodox ones, not really because of theit style but because of the difference in dogma like I mentioned in my previous post

i know but still.. they are very vocal of telling others to join their specific organization aside from jehova's witness and the church of latter-day saints.
i get their mindset that it's good to invite people to partake in the Body of Christ (which is the Church) but the way they're doing it seems almost cult-like, they're not even evangelizing anymore they're just spamming specific lines like robots
