Recently played all of the NES Mega Man games

I beat the first megaman. I thought about doing no hit before I play 2, but the stages don't seem like they'd be too much fun, I either already did it or came very close to doing it for every robot master during the rematches, and the submarine and wily fights blow. I might try to do yellow devil no hit however, I at least want to do him with the buster. Him and elecman were my favorite fights. Worst part of the game is still those stupid flying platforms.

I didn't even know what that was until you mentioned it, I was using electric and only had one hit left when I beat him. Him and the gay submarine were the only bosses I swapped off of the buster for.
CWU-01P is one of the best boss fights in Mega Man, it started the "boss who's actually several small enemies" trope. PicoPico-kun and Kagemoro maker are the same idea.
where did you find the nes for nintendo switch
Play them on emulator but the legacy collection is like $15.

Finished Mega man 6 last night, i liked 5 better than it. the robot master's and their themes were cool with it being around the world but the new mechanics hurt the game. There's these blocks and out of reach areas you find. you also can't summon Rush like you could before, until you beat certain levels which you can get Rush armor that helps you get to those unreachable areas. In theory this is cool but most players won't know about it. i got the Power armor 4 robot masters in and i only got the Flight armor right before the final robot master i had to do. some of the bosses were rng dependant like Knight Man where your just fucked if he decides to keep walking into you instead of jumping since his hitbox is too big. most of the bosses i used the weaknesses for to get them over with instead of finding them fun enough to fight buster only like in mm5. that drill boss in the 2nd X fortress level is a pain in the ass. i remember barely any of the music unlike the other games so womp womp. i think there's so many games you need to take a break because they start mushing together.

9 10 and 11?
from what ive heard the nuretro games dumbed down the moveset and removed the slide and charged shot since everybody's nostalgia biased towards megaman 2 instead of using the later entries to make something new. Capcom being liars added in protoman dlc where you got said moves but now you take double damage because fuck you. making another nuretrogame seemed to be milking it too hard. i think im just gonna skip those two and get straight to 11 when i get around to playing and finishing 8.

Mega Man 6 is one of the best classic mega man games but you NEED to start with flame man and blizzard man or else you're forced to do back-tracking. It makes the game linear in a sense because to get all of the beat letters you need to find the secret exits in the "warrior" stages (Tomahawk Man, Yamato Man, Knight Man, Centaur Man) so you need Rush power and Rush jet. I think the power armor is a nice evolution over rush jet and coil which had been getting old by now but the damn animation it makes you watch after putting it on is too much to bear. I disagree with the music being non-memorable however because Mr. X and Wily Fortress themes are some of my favorite in the series. The weapons are kinda mediocre though and I just used the mega buster most of the time (except for killing bosses) at least this game is better with weaknesses than MM4 and 5 where Ring Boomerang and Gyro Attack respectively just killed everything.

I think Mega Man 5 is a really weak entry in the series so all of the classic games are better than it by default, I think its biggest problem is that it extremely unbalanced towards the mega buster as opposed to any of the special weapons. When the mega buster is as tall as Mega Man is and the weapons you have are Charge Kick, Water Wave, and Power Stone, the choice is obvious.

@Steve will you play megaman unlimited 2 when it comes out?

I have never heard of MegaMan Unlimited, the only fangames I've ever played is Mega Man: Quint's Revenge and Megaman 8 Bit Deathmatch.
I haven't had the chance to play it, but basically unlimited is a fangame that seeks to bridge the gap between the classic and x series. The first one came out a gorillion years ago and it has a prototype zero at the end.
The same guy who made the first one is making a sequel now. I'l probably play the sequel.
It's all honestly quite faithful to the original 6 games.

I'll play it soon-ish, I have more pressing things on my list.

Also I need to complain about fangames, I despise when they have the MegaMan X dash instead of actual sliding, this is classic megaman why are you adding that X series bullshit in here. Sliding should be done by holding down and pressing jump but fangamecaca don't know that.

I like when fangames add unique stuff. Unlimited 2 is adding this. The guy did it before MegaMan 12 btw.

finally beat it, I had it downloaded when I made this post but took two months to actually play it for no reason. I liked a few of the ways that the first game was harder (like how the boss rush works) but the robots masters in 2 r better and I'm glad they just let you fight them immediately after the gates instead of having to do a filler section first. Still no idea how you're supposed to deal with those gay birds during the ladder section in crashmans stage without switching off of the buster.
