I used to think Redditors were dummyed noobs when they complained about the US healthcare system, and then my dad told me it would've cost him $2700 for a month's supply of underarm wipes (I sweat a lot) but he got them for $50 with insurance. I really cannot believe we would be paying over $30k/year for some shitty medicine that probably costs $10 to make.

I know most people have insurance in some form (and the ones that don't/rely on gubbmint have other issues anyway), but it's insane that some liar said "uuuuh yeah $2700 is a fair price".

When it first hit the news, their only source was a single forum post, and the OP eventually admitted he made it up.

It was only once he began being mocked, did he start frantically arguing that it was all a ruse. So you could argue he was just trying to save face for actually trying jenkem.
