Another of Claus’s romantic partners was Maria Reiter. She described one incident in which “two dogs suddenly attacked each other …. Claus suddenly intervened, like a maniac he hit his dog with his riding whip … and shook him violently by the collar. He was very excited …. The Jews seem either to become quiet whenever it is mentioned, or they will just carry on and ignore it. Perhaps they are secretly laughing at the people who bring it up.
