The prices are okay, it's just that a lot of them are kind of scuffed and it's hard to find something mint online
Of course some models like the launch edition models with PS2 compatibility are always hundreds of dollars but I don't really have an interest in playing PS2 titles (at least, not high enough that I need full hardware compatibility and not just use the PS2 Classics emulator) and I don't have the skill to Frankenstein mod then when they eventually break down so I'll stick to the early Slim models just for easy CFW

my dad still owns a copy of madden 09 for the ps2
i was originally thinking of getting a ps2/2006 ps3 to play the game (since he sold his ps2 14 years ago)
but i got the xbox 360 version instead
still don't know if i should get a ps2/3

Pity it wasn't Madden 08, I don't know much about sports titles but from what I heard it was the holy grail of EA football titles, that and the last few NCAA football games
Anyways the launch PS3s had both the PS2's Emotion Engine and Graphics Synthesizer onboard and have full compatibility with the PS2's library. Problem is they're crazy expensive and reliability isn't the best, the RSX (PS3 GPU) on the system will fail at some point. There is a mod you can do called the "Frankenmod" where you replace the 90 nm RSX on the console with a 40 nm revision from a later model but this a complicated process and will set you hundreds of dollars should you get someone else to do it for you. After that was a revision that only had the Graphics Synthesizer and used the Cell to emulate the EE. Despite losing one of the chips compatibility is still pretty good, you can play about 90-95 percent of the PS2 library in some way. However, these models are also expensive and still failure-prone. Around October 2007 they started releasing models with no PS2 hardware at all and never looked back. If you hack them it is possible to run PS2 titles via the PS2 Classics emulator with about 80 percent compatibility, but given that you mainly want to play this game on your dad's copy for nostalgia sake I doubt you really care about being able to download a ROM of Madden 09 and running it.

Honestly if I were you and I were still considering buying a PS2/3 I'd just get a separate PS2 and an early slim PS3 to get the most value out of everything. Whatever you do, just don't buy a slim PS2, they are massive pieces of dogshit, the ribbon cables on them WILL be exposed and they WILL scratch and fuck up your games.

I did a bit of extra research and apparently the PS2 Slim can't even play 100 percent of the PS2 library and has stability issues with some titles due to them removing the physical PS1 hardware from the system (when playing PS2 titles the PS1 CPU was utilized for I/O)

Fuck I wish I knew how to shade hair. I’m fairly happy with what I ended up with but it would’ve looked so much better if I got the shiny effect their hair had in-game.

Anyways today I was eating lunch and finishing up this study guide when my friends came over. They talked about how white liberal foids make for the worst audiences for comedy shows while middle aged ones or drunk college students made for the best ones. I wanted to bring up Sam Hyde’s “You Might Be Mike Brown” script into the conversation given how the joke is the audience leaking but I didn’t because either they wouldn’t know who he is and it’d be awkward or they’d know him as “le white nationalist” comedian and I’d look deranged.

Yesterday someone recognized my watch and complimented it, that was pretty neat.

Went to a surprise birthday party for some foid we all knew last Friday. I didn't realize the door was open so I went through their backyard like a dummy. I mostly just hung around and talked to this one guy and this black foid from work about vidya and JewTubers and shit. The birthday girl eventually pulled up, I gave her a $25 AMEX gift card from Target and she actually gave me a hug for it, making me KHV instead of KHHV. We then pulled up to this nightclub that's like a block away from where I live. The songs they were playing were all mid af, even Better Off Alone wasn't saved because they had to mash it up with that awful fucking No Broke Boys song. Eventually everyone decided to bail around like 1:30 or so and that was it. As everyone took a Lyft and fucked off I just walked back blasting Nettspend in my ears.
There was this one girl who said I was a good dancer. I wasn't so sure she was talking to me but she said it again and I was the only person really in her direct line of sight. Which is even more insane because I can't fucking dance for shit. She also made a bit of small talk earlier about working from home on Fridays so maybe she kind of liked me? Or more likely she was so drunk she thought I was attractive. Or she was fucking with me. I don't know.
