i mean as a part of our culture in history it’s still celebrated. hanging up the viet & commie flags is very commonplace wherever u go. that’s just standard tho, i don’t think we’re economically communist at all. there’s tons of income inequality everywhere i.e. you can see slums and luxury buildings in the same fucking city, like i just experienced these past few days. consumerism n profit making tactics is also preached n practiced in media a lot and so none of this feels really commie-like. we’re no different from cattle now really, modernization has diluted our cohesiveness as a country. still you can’t just define us all as a homogeneous group because the opinion of a southern viet middle aged man running a crypto scheme on facebook and one of a central viet rural farmer won’t be the same. all in all it is standard for us to show pride of our communism simply because it’s just a huge part of our history but the actual state of this place rn is not true communism
