You pin pointed the exact moment it stopped being funny lolBut Indian fallout bro
People with copper blood won.Irony people are so fucking annoying. Like, they just never learned emotional intelligence or how to explain themselves so they just mask with irony. They tell a knock knock joke and when the other person says "whos there" they just say nothing because they think thats funnier. Also it puts other people down to bring themself up which they also like. The worst ones are the ones who still expect to be taken seriously in the rare event that they share their obnoxious political opinions. They tried to share a funny video with their friend one time when they were 15 and it was the worst most embarrassing thing that ever happened to them so everything they do is so they can avoid that ever happening again. Disingenuousness and desperation define them. They have no idea how to handle awkwardness or embarrassment. The internet is the perfect place for people like that because there is plenty of opportunities for perceived embarrassing moments that dont actually mean anything because its all on the screen, and this contributes to their need for attention. If any of this describes you please just change and understand love and the world ManWe live in the world man

oh wtf, what was the group?dude, there was literallly a user that went by "ironybruh" on the schlog ffs
he is one of those irony people in the community that was also in a VERY hostile group i was formerly in that bullied me for months in 2024, yes most of you get the story, he got banned because goldberg found out he was in a discord server dedicated to the shemmy (which i feel thankful for because ironybruh made some jokes that made me feel a little bit... uncomfortable... to say the least)

being an irony poisoned teenager is a mere side effect of the fact that we live in hell and its a very human reaction to everything going on right now. its very stressful and tiring to have a serious sincere mindset towards everything and being a smug sarcastic cacaot is a valid coping mechanism, and we all have different methods of coping. at least thats what i would have said when i was like 18 i still dont entirely disagree with thatI hate when people use the term "genuinely" sincerely in their sentences. It's not a real word and the word that they are looking for is 'sarcastically.'
It's a shame too when it comes to the internet because usually the only sincere method of expression and emotion is either anger, hatred, or hostility.

Everything is through the veil of sarcasm or irony because they are people too afraid to express themselves as they are, and are afraid to be judged by others for the most minute of things, but this is what happens when the internet becomes real life and people are constantly monitored by government or by other people (I.E people filming everything they see, including other people's fuck ups and mistakes for clout, instead of living in the moment.)
It's one thing to be detached, but to take everything as a joke or have an entirely sarcastic world-view of everything ever?being an irony poisoned teenager is a mere side effect of the fact that we live in hell and its a very human reaction to everything going on right now. its very stressful and tiring to have a serious sincere mindset towards everything and being a smug sarcastic cacaot is a valid coping mechanism, and we all have different methods of coping. at least thats what i would have said when i was like 18 i still dont entirely disagree with that
your coping mechanisms dictate a lot about your worldview. a lot of people view themselves as being a part of the damned generation so they dont feel obligated to put in the extra work trying to be normal and good when they can instead be insane and delusional but proud of itIt's one thing to be detached, but to take everything as a joke or have an entirely sarcastic world-view of everything ever?
It's erosive and damaging to one's sense of self and others. That'll only breed resentment and an inability to connect with others in the long term, only furthering the "loneliness" epidemic that currently exists.
When does it stop being a coping mechanism and starts being one's mindset and way of thinking, and how they interact with things?
Honestly, I never thought of one of the possibilities being that a lot of younger people have below average emotional intelligence, which feels like the most obvious one.the reason it becomes fallacious and gay is because a lot of these people view themselves as omnipotent spectators of the world that are able to point and laugh at anyones situation except for their own. when i was a teenager i thought it was hilarious that i was using irony as a crutch because i was too emotionally dummyed to express myself any other way, like that was still funny to me and i understood the reason for it but i suspect a lot of these people dont have the same mindset of self parody that i had
