found an old (1st gen) jewgle home mini in a drawer and kept wondering why it shut off during the boot process. turns out the greedy fucker demands 9 watts, so the 2014 apple brick won't work.

why the hell does a smart speaker need 9 watts just to boot? i'm not an electrical engineer but i can't imagine the actual hardware (maybe some dual-core a53, 4GB flash, 512MB of RAM idk) needs anywhere near 9 watts if the speaker isn't playing audio. my google streamer needs 7.5 watts and that's an actual media device.

Biggest thing I love about Windows is how it manages external drives as to where you can freely plug them out and in whilst not in use to no real issue. You do that on Linux and your entire drive shits itself over bad superblocks and all that shite.
