talking about stupid soy shit genuinely but i feel like the reason why analog horror is so painfully aids is because people forget that television had fucking standards even during that time so the horror would have to be subtle, which literally none of them do. they wouldnt have aired some "youre gonna die" bullshit, if they were to announce some shit like that on television they would have used very proffessional calm language. Most "natural" analog horror doesnt come from durrr youre gonna die bullshit anyways, it actually usually relies in very specific athmosphere/situations (Example, your parents put on a movie and it ends at midnight, the channel closes transmission and the national anthem plays, you are left in silence with your own head while the static of th tv plays) or very specific visual shit (Example: Logos and IDs) which most analog horror doesnt even bother trying to replicate. the obvious explanation would be that most people who are fascinated by analog horror never lived through the analog era so they dont have any frame of reference but youd think that if theyre so fascinated by the concept theyd bother to look at actual shit from that era enough to internalize how tv transmissions are structured.
