Nihilma blog

Steve was kind enough to wish me well on my ventures, so I thought I'd make an update thread here as well. I think there's no need to tell of the consistency to expect of my posting here.

God has been kind to me, as always. I'm in the middle of an internship in a bakery / pastry shop of a week for the owners to see if they want to keep me in an apprenticeship. As of now, this is what I've bet all my money on, so to speak. It's one of the best shops in town, and this is not to flaunt on the french food culture, but it means it really is a place with a high degree of quality and therefore talent. So it's not sure at all they'll keep me, I have to work really hard to get to their standards. God willing, I make it, otherwise my plans will have to be reformed a bit.

It's now almost certain that I'll at one point become an orthodox catechumen. This is without the slightest disdain or discontent with my protestant upbringing and entourage, which I love, appreciate, respect and admire for their piety. I am however convinced of a fullness found within this Church. When that is done is however unsure, as I want to, if possible, go through with this transition without creating an unnecessary rupture within my family. We'll see about how it goes.

It's close to the hiking season again, I've already got some things planned. I'm going to start running again, in the hopes of getting some cardio back for the trekks. I'll probably send photos here. I plan on hiking in the Vercors (pic related) once again. It's the mountain rage of my whole childhood, the biggest natural reserve of metropolitan France and just a wonderful place. I'll go in the Chartreuse too, in the Belledone mountain rage, probably, and we'll see after that. As always, it'll mostly be hikes in duo, with one to three nights in tent. This is the best way to do it imo, for it gives the space and time necessary to really allow profound discussions with whomever you hike with.

The 4chan hack was weird and fun to watch, except for the excessive spam of DNB, TND, and real woman and sexual baiting which followed. I discovered the community of the 'cuck, and it was different than what I imagined it being. Way more minbdroken by porn than I thought, but also diverse. /biz/ seems like a cool community, even if I don't give the first care about such methods of making money. /nate/ was a hellhole, so were /pol/ and /a/. Interestingly, /tv/ had nothing about tv shows, and was just about lusting about stars and Shit Absolutely No One In the World Would Ever Imagine Giving A Shit About. Sad to see that the whole of the sharty's pph came from them though, and the moment the 'cuck got back online, all the new interesting boards died.

That's about it for now on my side, thanks for cheking in. Again, God bless, and Christ is Risen.

Looks like commercial equipment are you doing culi school or something
Yeah we have many diplomas here for jobs related to cooking, serving, baking, pastry making, butching, et cetera.
The rabbit hole is pretty intense. 10 years would not be enough to graze the whole of all diplomas related to food we have here. It's a luxury we have.

I'm currently a student in first year of baking, at a private school, as an apprentice, so I also work and have a salary.

I eat the first thing in the first image all the time
They were supposed to be "raisin breads", so puff pastry like you find in croissants, with a pastry cream, and raisins that have been marinated in rum a whole night.

Unfortunately my comrades took all the raisins so I went with chocolate chips (which I prefer tbh).

Yeah, we've also got one in the family

I'm far from any proffesional cook but i received some instruction from the professional in my family so i understand my cooking skills are well developed for my age
In my family there has always been a culture that everyone even the children must cook atleast once a week

I'm not very goot at baking, but there's a recipe for a shitoko bread that a russian lady who's been a friend of my family since my parents married that i baked a few times when i was a teenager and i really liked. I should ask for that recipe again.
Shit you should share it, I'm interested.
Any savory stuff in there or is it just plain water, flour, salt and leaven/yeast ?

Honestly great habbit to develop.
Everyone eats more and more shit as society sloppifies itself so knowing how to cook fresh and non-transformed stuff is an important and useful skill.

Hone that as much as you can, my advice.

It's not necessarily that overconsumption will get worse but the assurance of ingredient quality will be
Greedy farmers and biotech companies planting GMO crops with completely molested protein profiles just because it's the fastest and most ressilient strand they've ever made that'll make you itch and feel allergic to thing you've never been alergic to
They're selling poison, literal biological poison; that being harmful proteins

It's not even that GMO is a bad tech but it's so blatantly abused to ever further push increaseing profit targets and productivity metrics

I gotta message my mom for it. It's very simple but good with coffee.

Absolute truthnuke.

It even fucks up the soil to the point where it becomes sterile to anything but GMO and chemically enhanced crops. This is the reason Monsanto was so hated. Genuine devilish company.

That's one thing where European laws are actually pretty good, they put a stop to this shit pretty fast. My bakery only works with biological ingredients, so while it automatically makes the bread more costly, it's a cool concept.

But in the USA you're pretty much fucked. You're gonna eat poison almost no matter what. Quite sad really.

Well it's the way and the goal that are problematic.

In and of itself, modifying the genetics of the crops we eat is what we have been doing for millenias, by accelerating evolution. We select only the crops that have the traits we wants and reproduce these crops until these traits have maxxed out.

The way we do it now is through by lab processes, using tons of chemicals. But the worst part is the goal. These labs usually try to make the crops sterile so farmers become dependant on buying new crops every time, make it so these crops poison the ground they're on and other non GMO crops so you can only work with them afterwards, and are modofied to only work in mass monoculture, to fuck the ground up even more. Vile shit.
