The show might be absolute soyennialcore but there’s a reason people were watching, the first 7-9 seasons are genuinely good TV

I see a pattern with how my main network that I use to watch the simpsons (channel 4) usually airs classics episodes I saw the end of a modern one and this shitty episode where lisa is a fan of some shitty indie hippie british band then in the end of the episode the main guy of that band goes on a rant about immigrants and vegans for some reason

Even classic Simpsons had a left leaning slant (and I'm pretty sure they're 80 percent of the reason of the undeserved bad rep nuclear energy gets), but as the years passed by all the competent writes moved on with their lives and they got replaced with a cohort that just wants to write celebrity cameos and use Lisa to soapbox about their political opinions

The other day I was watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force in the basement and then my dad came down and started nagging me to put something else on, and he wanted to watch The Simpsons. They only had the latest season on Hulu, so I just picked a random episode from there. Five minutes in he realized what he was watching was boring and left, but still, this is the type of people The Simpsons is for
