American “culture” is dead

As a result of social media, everything became homogenized but, at the same time, extremely fractured. It's moved on into a more individualistic era, rather than a formerly collective era, where people shared a lot of the same tastes and interests, and although unrelated, I'd actually argue that's part of the reason there's a rise of incels and other swampy mentalities. People are having a more difficult time relating to others because they can't find someone of their own. Which is the very definition of irony because social media was created for the entirely opposite of reasons.
Also, it's currently in a slump where companies are not willing to try. When new media is created, it's extremely safe, but most of the time they're flat out refusing to do anything new at all; ergo, a bunch of revivals, reboots, sequels, continuations, and other things. It's like a self fulfilling, destructive loop.

You can also blame this on social media because of people having hyper-individualistic tastes and an emphasis on unique identity akin to "I'm not like other girls", but for every person of every colour and kind, thus, there's less of a demand for artistic mediums, as well as films fit for a broad demographic that can be enjoyed by many, but perhaps not all. So no more family-friendly films with Tim Allen as the dad, or Julia Roberts playing the slut, or Christopher Walken playing a war veteran with a pocket watch shoved up his ass.

The 1960s through the 1990s would've been the best period to have been a young american, I can imagine.

American capitalism is rapidly deteriorating so because of these two things america is becoming fascist.

I will say, Trump's second win does set a bad precedent for American politics and the American political system. Some could view it as the underdog achieving a win beyond comprehension, but it feels like there's a possibility of more openly crooked people running for president, people who won't hide their shadiness because it's socially acceptable now, which doesn't help with previously shady and shameless people ascending to power like Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton, rather than a stereotypical kempt politician with a family, with a dog, and with that white picket fence. But hey, that's just my two cents.

I guess what I'm saying is that whatever happens in Europe, stays in Europe. While whatever happens in America, everybody talks about it, especially those outside of the States.
