RE2 is so fucking good. The jumpscares really get you, and a lot of them aren't just "jumpscares," they're just shit you should be terrified of coming out of nowhere and actually forcing you to run for your life.
Way more terrifying than 1 or 0.
The fact that enemies can chase you through rooms is even better. Got to the point where I detonated the C4 and got jumped by a hunter.
Was running for my life because I didn't bring the grenade launcher, then nearly shit myself because a zombie tried to grab me through a boarded window.

RE1 was great for the charm it had, but this is easily my favorite game so far from the ones I've played (1, 0, 5, 6, and 7).

I am loving it.

Story is amazing too. Just got to the section with Sherry in the parking garage and the cutscene actually made me angry.

Had a pretty good run with the boss right before that.
Left a few rooms unfinished in the police station and I'm not sure if I could have solved those puzzles yet or not. I feel like I was pretty thorough.

Got the map in the parking garage and saw a room labeled "The Kennel" so I'm absolutely dreading that. Got the semi-auto pistol THOUGH and that felt like a huge victory.
 
CLEAN run. Still at full health, diamond key aquired. Lost some handgun ammo to zombies and lost a flashbang to a licker that pounced me (didn't even realize grenades could be used like that. Very generous of the game to give me one)

Diamond key leads to the elevator room, so I'm assuming that brings me back up to the station. Pretty sure there was a Diamond room up there. Feeling pretty good considering I'm going in completely blind.

Got an upgrade for the grenade launcher, which feels earned, but the sudden appearance of blue herbs is terrifying

Reloaded a save, went to the storage room instead for the gear and "elecreal womanics part"
I'm so on edge that I genuinely fucked up my saves and have no real way of going back.
Typing this update so I can calm down and think. I think all I have left to do is trigger the noob that chases me everywhere.
Also got the badge/usb, so I think I'm set to just trigger big bro and run from him until I find a way out of the area. I'm making notes for each save now to make sure I don't screw myself. 10/10 game, no question.

I'm genuinely dummyed and it was overhyped. Incredibly easy to get past him if you grab everything else first. Cool

Edit: I genuinely could not have been more wrong if I tried.

This section is miserable. either new zombies spawn or revive and I'm expected to walk slowly and not fire a gun to avoid the big man. made it to a safe room and I have to walk back to the library to move bookshelves and make a new path (library is full of zombies btw).
Still very fun. Far more horror than any other entry I've played. Done for the night, though.
