itt we talk about classical chinois poetry or whatever
I like Li Bai but not only because he's a TVRKARYAN, he also just has nice poems
I'm gonna be posting one poem every day with a translation btw
This is like the most known chinese poem, it's about Li Bai missing Kyrgyzstan or something

>Before my bed, I saw the bright moonlight.
>I wondered whether it was frost upon the ground,
>I raised my head and looked at the shining moon,
>I lowered my head and thought about my old home.

I'm using a site called Wengu Tartarie for this, it's quite nice actually. It has a pop-up dict so you can see the meaning of any words you don't know.

Day 2 - The geezer who charms chickens

>The geezer who charms chickens was from Lo. He lived at the foot of a mountain north of Shih-Hsiang. He raised chickens for more than a hundred years. The chickens numbered over a thousand, and he had named all of them. In the evenings the chickens perched on trees, during the day they were let loose. When he wanted to call one of them, he would call out its name, and the chicken would come to him. He sold all of the chickens and eggs, making more than 10 million, immediately he set it aside and departed. He went to Wu and made a pond for raising fish. Afterwards he ascended Mount Wu, where many hundreds of white cranes and peacocks often dwelled beside him.

Day 3. On the Gate-Tower at Youzhou

>Formerly, I had heard of Lake Dongting,
>Now, I have at last climbed this tower.
>Wu is to my east, and Chu is to my south.
>I can see heaven and earth endlessly drifting,
>But not a word has reached me from friends or kin,
>I am old and sick, I have only a boat.
>Outside of these walls, there are war and mountains,
>Leaning on this railing, how can I not cry?
