Desktop Linux is a failure.

Do people actually use Linux?
Yes but it's mostly people who don't need linux, they just want to have some fun while doing otherwise boring computer stuff. Then there are some schizos talking about muh privacy while running linux on modern, backdoored hardware with their smartphones lying next to them- ignoring them is advised. Then there are some political noobbabble folx- better to ignore them too.
There was only one time when I absolutely needed linux, that was when I had to complie an app for android. On windows is it unnecessarily complicated while on linux it's very easy. At least for the libraries I was using or something, idk.
At my uni I know of only one person who uses linux on their computer (other than me) and I remember him struggling to make the hdmi work lol. Humiliation ritual.
The day before I had to give a big presentation I remember rehearsing connecting to the projector so I'd avoid this kind of embarassment.

Some people like it when software is ass and doesn't work and they need to spend hours to make a workaround
I'm like that sometimes
