A man in Romania goes to a church to confess his sins. He sits in front of a priest and starts:
- "Father. I've come to seek forgiveness, because I have sinned."
- "Of course, child. What sins do you wish to confess?"
- "Father. During the time of war I have been hiding a jew up on my attic."
- "This is not a sin, child, it is a virtue. You have saved this man from certain death. I forgive you."
- "Then I have a question, Father. What if I while I took money from him for staying at my attic?"
- "Well, this is not as virtuous, but still, you've risked your own well-being for this man. I forgive you."
- "Then another question, Father. Should I tell the jew that the war is over?"
