I think it's low-hanging fruit. Specially because they don't actually criticize him for any actually valid shit, they just call him a dumb chudcel. It's negative creativity.

Well, another thing is that reality has become such a parody of itself. It's hard to top real life, but I also feel like changing the name of the show comes across as more petty and stupid than funny and subversive; it's not creative, and they also chose the easiest joke to make, and the joke doesn't make any sense.
If the joke was in regard to Lake Ontario, then that's dummyed. If the joke was in regard to the Gulf of Mexico and New Mexico, then that makes a little more sense.

I don't think that's a justifiable excuse. Retaining dignity and integrity in spite of turmoil is le better than flippantly discarding it. It showcases restraint and stoicism, o algo.
But if our world leaders can't provide that, when that's just part of the job, then I don't see why anybody else should either.
