Do you like video games with realistic graphics?

It's hard to describe, but to me there's an area between "good" graphics and typical 2D pixel graphics that looks like total dogshit. Look at this screenshot of Fallout 3, yes the game isn't supposed to look pretty (especially considering the setting) but it's absolutely hideous.

The models are jagged, the reflections are poor and primitive, and the green tint doesn't help at all.

But here's a screenshot of HL1:

It looks dated, yes, but it's not ugly. The textures are simple to cope with the compression and the models are just high poly enough to provide a basic representation of what they're supposed to be. The lighting isn't trying to be something it's not, it's not overexposed or anything like that.

I'm dummyed though.
Visual clutter is a major issue of modern videogames, especially on smaller laptop screens when you can still only run them at like 1080p and modern noob graphics pipelines add blur and fog in every pass

It doesn't matter, every game with realistic graphics sucks just like everything else released in the past ten years.

Immersion over realisim
The anti-realisim fad commong among real womancore media like many liberal anti-movements is a completely dummyed reaction to the enshittification game graphics
Now games usually release in either a repulsive PS1slop style (not hate to buckshot roulette and Mike Klubnika for being a ditherGOD) or a absolutely jeeted TSAA-shit-smeared mess of "graphics" (UE5 default settings)
Few games nowandays have sharp modern well rounded graphics, fewer still do that in an optimised manner
