oh shit I said older, I meant newer, fuuuuuuuck.I sometimes use the shroom on a T2400 T60 and it's not a good experience. A fully speccd T/X61 is the minimum I feel.

buy an x220 or an x230 and put in the classic keyboard if you're one of those types of peopleoh shit I said older, I meant newer, fuuuuuuuck.
I would maybe only ever consider a T60 maybe if I was that paranoid about proprietary BIOS and muh fuggen libre laptop, but you can get that with W500 (highest specced model) or better a Dell Lattitude (which are much more cheaper due to lower demand I assume), I just really want a thick laptop.Lol.
I might buy an x220, but I've heard 1376x768 is a God awful display and my chromebook had that display and it was kinda raisin ngl. Probably T420 if I freak out about it enough in mind.buy an x220 or an x230 and put in the classic keyboard if you're one of those types of people
regardless buy an ultrabase as well if you can
4 core corebooted W530 with an x220 keyboard swap.I would maybe only ever consider a T60 maybe if I was that paranoid about proprietary BIOS and muh fuggen libre laptop, but you can get that with W500 (highest specced model) or better a Dell Lattitude (which are much more cheaper due to lower demand I assume), I just really want a thick laptop.
W530 accepts libreboot doebeit, and I meant fully libre on the T60, because you can canoeboot it4 core corebooted W530 with an x220 keyboard swap.
x230 had the option to choose an IPS panel instead of the default TN one you'd normally see on these laptops. Still the same res but I assume it wouldn't look half bad with the tiny 12in screen. T420 did not have that option and you were still stuck with the same resolution. or 1600x900. I use x220 daily, the display is ... fine. For internet use. I did an IPS swap because the default TN panel is fucking awful.I might buy an x220, but I've heard 1376x768 is a God awful display and my chromebook had that display and it was kinda shit ngl. I've heard the differences between 1920x1080 and 1600x900 are very little so I don't think it matters that much really.x230 had the option to choose an IPS panel instead of the default TN one you'd normally see on these laptops. well still you can technically get goofy augh modifications where you can get a 2560x1600 display on x230 but that requires some weird displayport hack that I don't wanna do, so maybe get like x220 and then modify it to have 1080p mod because I think that's the highest it can support, I saw it on a reddit post once.No they're not
I went from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200 and the difference was huge.
I mean 1080p on a small display like that is overkill but you do you. I wouldn't bother with these types of mods, I'd just use the IPS 768p panel.well still you can technically get goofy augh modifications where you can get a 2560x1600 display on x230 but that requires some weird displayport hack that I don't wanna do, so maybe get like x220 and then modify it to have 1080p mod because I think that's the highest it can support, I saw it on a reddit post once.
