It's sort of a mentality, a way of thinking, but they try to make it elusive without ever elaborating on what that philosophy actually is. Therefore, you're either in the know or you aren't. Nobody mentions the details, likely because there are none. I think it's an inside joke more than anything.
As for the "after you die" part. They say if you remember the phrase after you die, this information will somehow help you in the afterlife. In what way? I don't know.
