Dnb of a franchise, halo MCC is the only reason why people even play still, I stopped playing once they dropped support for x360 halo reach, that still had a couple thousand players despite the game's age and platform evendoe most people are on backwards compat

Halo 5 is like OK IG, compared to bungie halo it has no fucking chance of success, halo infinite is pretty solid despite the shitty launch and the game being free to play which is a curse and a blessing cuz it means more players but it also means fortnite battle pass and item shop

I see halo as a star wars sort of situation cuz it kinda lost it's weight for the most part, like campaign wise (mp is still fun on all halo games), the story and all went to shit once they tried continuing it from halo 3, they could have just made a spinoff or alternate universe sort of thing or different galaxy but same universe sort of thing but no, they had to fuck up a perfect conclusion which was planned since halo 2's storywriting

343/Halo Studios is getting whittled down to a skeleton crew for MCC and the five people who still play Infinite and all further Halo installments will be developed by a team under Activision

Also in unrelated news Ninja Theory is getting shuttered because no one wants to buy them because they suck ass and Obsidian is going to be made Bethesda’s bitch again
