Graduated a week or two ago. I'm planning on going to a university in the next few months, although I'm still unsure of if I truly want to so I might change my plans to do something else depending on how God guides me this summer. One of my buddies got set up with a job from his dad's workplace at some tech data center, and that was after he already got all of his stuff planned for the college he was going to, but he ended up taking up that offer and ditching the university because that opportunity now has him all set to start making some good bank for pursuing what he wants to do (investing and trading stuff). Talking with him about that kind of made me realize that my future's potential isn't as narrow as it has seemed. University is expensive (seems like it is no matter where you go) and it might turn out to be a real homo-fest so if I do find some alternative options to save my family money while still getting on my feet then I'd love to take a similar decision to what my pal did.
Really, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Ideally, it'll be something spiritual, and for a while I had the idea of monasticism or something clergy-like, but at the same time I feel rather unprepared for such hefty responsibility, so I'm trying to find something to "grow old in" and focus my efforts on for a good while before I decide to really enter a spiritual pursuit. I met an Orthodox priest just this past month who only became a priest after a multiple-decade career as a police officer. Clearly, then, is such a field not the sort that you've got to sprint into right out of adolescence.
