I actually did take the risk and try the game. I like it so far.
Is it better than vanilla minecraft? Yes.
Is it better than Minecraft after more than a decade of modding support? Probably not. In fact, I think you could maybe try a lot of Minecraft mods to get a somewhat similar experience.
Besides, Soyjang desperately needs competition so they become less of cacaots, so it's a win anyway.
