i vividly remember when it was announced in august 2019, i watched the trailer in my middle school's cafeteria.

usually i am hesitant to complain and laugh about things like these, because i had assumed they were the norm nowadays, but i didn't quite understand how much of a fuckup it was. short version is that the game was passed around between studios like a white bitch in college, came out half-baked with none of the promised shit planned, and ran like ass.

i don't think even a ps5 pro could run that shit these days, and they were probably targeting a cross-gen (xb1/ps4) release at first. maybe dont charge $50 for noobjeetware kek

it's not like they could anyway, even considering how talented some people were with KSP 1 mods.

i don't remember the technical details but apparently they decided to base it off of (already questionable) KSP 1 code and bolt on tons of shit to it. from what i've read it's hard to even get into LKO with a basic ship on most PCs, and none of the planned things like other star systems and multiplayer ever got added. there is essentially zero wiggle room to work with. imagine trying to make RSS for that shit
