Is the "web revival" salvageable?

The concepts of "social media le bad, corporate minimalism le bad, personalization le good" appeals to me but I can't help but notice that every. Single. Person. in that movement is some kind of real woman or furcaca or other cordnoob screaming from the rooftops about the exact ideologies that killed the "old web" they claim they're so nostalgic for.
>Yeah man the old web would have totally accepted my wolf-unicorn hybrid fursona and used my goon/goonself pronouns

Also real womanliartropolis likes the old net (due to a high prevalence of porn and gore on sites with minors in it so they'd see it every minute) which is objectively a red flag.

My question is this: Do (You) believe this movement ever had merit? If it did, can it still be salvaged or is it just for real women now?

The problem with the new internet is that everything is owned by corporations and therefore has to be sanitized for advertisers in order to make money. The problem with the movement you're talking about is that it's full of real women. real women can only exist in sanitized spaces and would ack immediately if people were able to say what they actually think about them without getting banned. The movement will therefore just lead to the current internet being recreated as it's the only place its members can exist.
>It's just like the old net bro! How? It's obvious, I made it look like shit!
Agora road is like this too lol. None of the people involved in this are interested in figuring out what was good about the old net and recreating it, they just blindly copy the aesthetics of it. At the end of the day a sites quality is determined by the posters on it, and these people are part of the reason that the sites they post on are shit to begin with. Good posters and by extension good sites still exist, the main reason that most of the internet is bad is that "most of the internet" is inhabitated by normgroids who substitute large portions of their lives with it. These sites almost exclusively get made for the joy of making them, I guarantee that 99% of these guys spend two minutes on their site before leaving to jerk off on discord & twitter like everybody else.

they supposed to be more like blog sites about xhemsleves doe if its with neocities

nobaldi cares about the old interent im going page to page of neocity pages it got very stale like very fast after visting 5 of them

i personally dont think the "old interent" will come back if it's just filled with real women because I already see these real woman fuckers on xitter and every other social media so you already know how these people act what type of things they like so it gets predictable and lame and dont forget they are dummyed libshits

The web revival as it currently stands is not a revival of the old web, it's a revival of the visual design and tropes. An actual true "web-revival" has not been tried, and I wholeheartedly believe it could be done with the right backing. A backing of passionate geeks who want to see a return to form, a professional, formal, nerdy, gatekept, form, with a high-ceiling to entry. Y'know, as I type this I type this Hyphanet comes to mind. Maybe the /g/oyim were right for once. I would personally love to see a USENET revival though, that would be awesome to see.

Don't know if it's salvageable, but my opinions are slowly shifting as a result of the digital ID enforcement on real woman havens like groomercord. You're inevitably going to have two different camps: the ones who fuck off from social media altogether and the people who take a gander at the indie web. So prepare for a real woman migration in the same way the surface level web was ruined by the Tumblr exodus when they banned porn.

The thing is, when it comes to the soysphere, you shouldn't take anything to heart, take anything seriously, but should look at things from a tongue-in-cheek perspective. It's like if somebody tells you to kill yourself, just laugh it off.

I know that sounds incredibly queer but most of these people have incredibly thin skin and exist only within digital 'safe spaces' and echo chambers.

i dont care for the old net or whatever gay nostalgia but i feel like this is how the old net was like and with the current state of the web revival with it just being dead inactive blog sites i dont think it will ever come back plus if it they were less dead its just going to be filled with real womans, autistics and furcacas

They have no idea what it even means

There’s this video made by a video essay sloptuber that I saw on my recommended that was 40 minutes long and it was about PizzaGate.

The thumbnail of the video is designed in the late 90s America Online interface and has some “Retro” VHS filter on it.

PizzaGate happened in 2016.

I genuinely hope the government kills this guy, in real life.

Who cares. Get angry over something more substantial, like bald men with glasses.
