To be honest my knowledge is a bit rusty, but things like the Mossberg Shockwave aren't NFA items at all, actually. They just barely meet the barrel length & OAL requirements.
If it actually is an NFA item I would assume the process would be easier than buying a normal one & getting approved to do the job yourself.

The only reason I started wanting one is because of this stupid unityslop horror game.

Something about double-barrel shotguns is very appealing to my dummyation. But only if they're side-by-side, don't have external hammers, and use a separate trigger for each barrel. Automatic shell ejectors aren't a deal breaker but I don't like them.

Nutty, had a brief talk with my father going to my room after having a slash. He said he wouldn't mind going clay shooting with myself once or twice over the summer with my grandfather when I'm not at work, seeing as my uncle apparently gave up his gun due to not renewing his license.
