family guy as a whole got really trashy because they went from making elaborate jokes with punchlines to babbling whatever they could say that sounds funny but doesnt even have an explanation.
my favorite episode is "the man with two brains" because its one of the last times you can see the characters actually feel like people and not overexaggerated stereotypes of what the writers want it to be. look at quagmire, he went from girl getter that likes hanging around with his friends and joking around to just a sex pest that does whatever he can to fulfill his dick going hard.
and it isnt just with quagmire, look at chris for example. he went from sympathic teenager to just dummyed. or meg, she literally went from shy insecure teenager who would actually fight back in harsh situations to just
>shut up meg.
it all became this blob of """jokes""" that were randomly fabricated to sound as absurd as possible to not play it too harsh on the actual jokes they did BEFORE this happened.

yeah but south park does it better, the jokes are absurd to the point of not being comprehensible but they actually follow a plot within each episode following that absurdist joke.

family guy is bad absurdism because it doesnt follow any kind of plot, if it does it gets easily lost and the jokes arent even understandable
