potatoes i did an experiment with, by boiling (?) them with my intake manifold in tinfoil, it was terrible but it does prove that my car can cook food, therefore it mogs the fuck out of my ex.

I think I simply didn't put them in the right spot or drive for long enough, I let my car idle for about 5m before putting them on, then drove to the store and back, so in total ~40m of total driving, + additonally 10m of idling when I got home to unload the car and kept it running use the cigarette lighter for my vacuum cleaner so my car dosen't smell bad.
I don't have a V8 so maybe cooking with your car is a 'mutt thing where they have giant heat producing engines, so it might be that.

There was no water it was just a potato I cut in half wrapped in 2 layers of tinfoil, if there was extra water it could probably introduce moisture to the engine bay which I don't want

in that case yeah cut small and maybe poke with fork too
Increased surface area so heat reaches areas more, better distribution
