Just beat Episode 1, it wasn’t horrible but it felt like pure filler for something more interesting. Also the final fight of escorting the civilians to the train was boring as fuck

Episode 1 is a lot worse than episode 2 just by virtue of not really taking you to any new areas, the second half of it just feels like an extension of anti-citizen one. Ep1s citadel isn't much better since you immediately get the blue gravity gun which just boils down to pressing one button and instantly killing the enemy, so most of the actual gameplay is a bunch of crappy puzzles involving energy orbs. The mines/caves and forest distinguish ep2 from hl2 a lot better. Zombine are cool tho I like them.

I didn't mind having more time with the blue gravity gun, yeah it's a bit mindless but I wanted a bit more time with it at the end of the base game anyway. This isn’t the Raising the Bar reprint
(I’d care a bit more if I actually got through Alyx but I’ve only played the first couple chapters on some dogshit Vive headset my college had and I’m waiting for the Frame to get one of my own. I could just play it without VR but it doesn’t seem very fun as a flat game)
