Why do people sometimes call people who have serious concrete beliefs regarding politics, religion etc. larpers? Have people become so irony-raped to the point that any iota of sincerity or passion has been stripped and replaced by memes and social media trends and any expression of said sincerity and passion is ridiculed and the only position they consider to be ‘normal’ is centrism or apolitical observers. And it makes sense if its some dork dressing up as a brownshirt and hailing Claus in his bedroom, that’s definitely larping. But even being just religious without wanting your faith to be influenced by liberalism gets slapped with the larper accusation.
What’s so bad about being firm and uncompromising in your beliefs?

Because it's smug, quick, belittling and steps around the brainpower needed to argue or debate for or against a topic formally. The people don't like arguing anymore, they'd rather write some variation of "seethe" "cope" "mald" "cry about it" "larp" et cetera, and run away from confrontation swiftly with an unbruised ego, than actually discuss, Now with the addition of normals to the equation, it's became another short, knee-jerk, term to abuse in every other sentence--even if it doesn't work--until it gets worn out and dumped for the next term of the week. Take "sensitive young man" and "foid" for example, that was absolutely RAPED to death. Why is it always run-down imageboard/manosphere terminology you may be asking? Because it makes normals feel special by using something which to them is "niche" and "different". Accordingly they latch onto it like a parasite, until everyone else starts doing it, returning them to seeing themselves as unspecial, thus repeating the cycle. This is why gatekeeping is the most important thing anyone can do for anything they truly love, because it can and will go down this path at some point, word, video, movie, game, or otherwise.
