You're extremely dummyed if you can't tell the difference. The era of social democrats (1800s-1910s) was probably it's best as they were essentially proper socialists. They started mellowing out in their leftism around 1920s-1940s but I would say were still worth voting for but after that if your a genuine socialist no. That was when things started hitting the fan for social democracy becoming nothing more then center-left welfare capitalism. Then shit really hit in the 80s with Third Way which made all these parties move to neoliberalism.
