Didn't know the politics part, I heard x11 was outdated and not supported anymore so wayland is an alternative

first off x11 has no support whatsoever, since most of the devs fled to wayland.

second of all, it's security is also shit so more prone to attacks, and hackers can get into inputs easily, and the code is really big and bloated.

Third, most mainstream distros are removing it

tl;dr use xlibre.
