Live Content Updates

[Yurijak]

I'd like to see some form of live updates be added in a similar manner to the Broom. There are Xenforo addons to allow this on the current running version 2.3.6. Attached to this post are two addons I grabbed from XenVN that should work, both having different implementations of the feature.
DCom LiveContent does it through some sockets.io nonsense whilst Xon LiveContent polls the server for new content at a custom timerate, and adds them to the existing list of posts/messages. I've heard that the former is easy on system resources but time'll tell.

[ATWA ya dig?]

wawa

[Yurijak]

Checking the files of both and they seem clean. DCom has built-in albeit tacky notification sounds which is neat I suppose.

Doscord ahh addons would oneshot the shroom's fickle servers

[Apolloyon]

@𝒮𝒽𝓇ℴℴ𝓉 do this. Albeit, we already have some kind of 'live updates' although it is pretty slow compared to the system they had on the Boorum and it's pretty inconsistent as well.

It's either Shroot adds this or my withdrawing method of rapidly twitching and scratching my arm in a panic becomes the death of me.

Don't do this i am neurodivergent and trans and this will overload my senses.

[Apeson]

Anyways, I'm pretty sure you could do this with the current service worker just tweaking the time and making it trigger without user input needed

Okay, i support it now

[RandalSoy]

i hate refreshing the page

[Goot]

Why's it all the queer-adjacent users that confess to "hating" needing to refresh?

Every single day you wake up and look down the first thing you see are zippertits and a frankenweiner noob shut up.

I'd like to add a gallery add-on. At least until I get an actual income during my internship next semester and can host a booru for the site again. Away from the hands of the polish rapist.

@RandalSoy
>zippertits
You wouldn't do something so cruel to men... and yourself, right?

I don't think it's worth it mate. The Shroom Booru was pretty dead for most of its existence.

[swaggrz]

Stop I hate change shroomy classic being the default theme was the warning shot and I went straight back to shroomy, this is a slippery slope, it will end up causing the shroompocalypse and I will die in real life and a zombie shroom server (noobhell) will rise up from the ashes when the 32bit Unix timestamp stops counting up
And no I am not being unserious here
Everything in italics is irony THOUGH

The shroombooru was never meant to be a standalone site. It's just that the gallery add-on for xenforo sucks ass and a place to index random media is pretty handy.
