January 10th, 2026: The Birthday party is today. I woke up at 8:00am and had 2 softboiled eggs for breakfast with milk and coffee. The girl who dressed as Terra at the Halloween party had her 22nd birthday today so I wished her a happy birthday. I had little to do today so I spent a lot of time playing Raft and then Team Fortress 2. I had some leftovers for lunch and continued gaming. It was snowing for a long time so I had to shovel the walkway once. I went back up and waited until it got snowy again but the concrete seemingly made it melt. I got packed up with my clothes for doing the laundry. I went over to the laundromat and put my stuff in and went to the convenience store to get a 2/$7 deal on the sugar free Redbull made with monkfruit. I drank one and when I got back to the laundromat. I saw all the white t-shirts were stained red because I washed the red corduroy pants with the rest. I thought about washing them again with some bleach I saw laying around but just dried them. I went to the discount clothes store and looked for a good white long sleeved button-up to replace the one I got but the ones there were either too large or were missing a ton of buttons. I went back and grabbed the dried laundry to take home. I folded half of it when James the Greater came in and criticized me for leaving the door unlocked into our apartment. I didn’t have dinner but at 5:40pm I started walking over to Nikki’s house. I emptied the garbage on the way there and then got in at the same time as Seraphim. We entered and she made us take off our hats and jackets. I got a diet coke and sat with Seraphim for a bit and met her roommates. There was also this one woman who recognized me whom I will be calling Jacky, she was at Wednesday Eucharistic adoration a lot. I went back to the living room when I saw Mahdi come in with Punk’s friend. I said hi to Madhi and he came over to sit with us. Bernarda came in a bit later and she sat by us as Seraphim taught her about playing the guitar. Punk’s friend left to the other room and more people came in as time went on, people trickled in like Elizabeth, Gina, Cliffe’s friend. I got a beer and then some grapes they had. There was also these blue cookies and brats. I talked with Nikki and she told us her boyfriend’s actual 25th birthday is Monday, January 12th, He’s from Oswego, Illinois based on a poster Nikki had in the living room. At 6:40pm Nikki drove to pick up her boyfriend and we watched her location from Jackie’s phone. I went to grab a New Glarus Pale Ale and drank that. I met some more people until we saw her drive back. I grabbed a balloon to throw at her boyfriend when they came back. At 7:00pm they came in and we shouted:
“Surprise!”
And he was super happy. I wish my friends would do this shit for me. He hugged me and the party continued on. I went over to the dining room to get some more food and when I got back I saw Punk’s friend sitting with Mahdi and Seraphim. I was in the kitchen hangout, talking to Bernarda, I asked her about where her boyfriend was.
“Oh he’s in New York.”
She replied.
“What’s he doing there?”
I asked, thinking he’s just on a trip to NYC or possibly even Albany, she told me:
“He lives there.”
I asked:
“Well how did you meet him then?”
I wasn’t prepared for the shocker of an answer that hit me:
“Genshin Impact.”
I was laughing so hard. What the fuck! I just made jokes making fun of her dating through video games. Gina was in the dining room while inspecting a blueberry cookie, she asked someone if it had gluten and they said yes. I put my hand out in front of her and she gave it to me, it tasted nice. Later on I had Mahdi open a thing of alcohol free champange and it spilled on the ground. I got paper towels and went to wipe it up to find Punk’s friend obscuring me. I told her:
“Move!”
And she did. She was being kind of annoying and when I left. I had to deal with her being in the way of the shoes. I got mine and walked all the way home before heading back to grab my hat. I took a shower and then went to sleep.
