I used my autism diagnosis as a get-out-of-jail-free card in high school all the time, not to get out of work/extend deadlines but for most of my classes I just sat out in the hallway doing work on my computer. Also used it to get out of pep rallies a bunch of times. I hate sitting at tables in a classroom and being forced to be next to people. Also I used to think I smelled awful even though people told me I smelled like nothing
